Dialog on Diversity: Business Sustainability …The business landscape we engage in continually changes. More than ever there is a diversity of ideas, thoughts, attitudes, and business styles.
Past NJAWBO State VP of Diversity and Past State President, Willa Edgerton-Chisler will be leading a group discussion on diversity strategies for business sustainability. The dialog will provide women business owner’s a platform to voice their perspectives on diversity awareness, understanding, challenges and brainstorm diverse approaches for business growth.
Willa Edgerton-Chisler, CEO (Chief Empowerment Officer) is the founder of Symphony Coaching, LLC. Leveraging a knowledge symphony of sales, customer relationship management, human capital development, nonprofit effectiveness, and diversity & inclusion platforms have provided her with a well-rounded perspective and business acumen needed to understand, empathize and support her clients’ challenges. Her client portfolio includes solopreneurs, entrepreneurs, corporate and nonprofit professionals, career changers and other professionals. She serves as a dynamic speaker, workshop facilitator and a personal/professional strategist.
Celebrating her 10th year as a professionally trained and certified professional coach, Willa is a member of the International Coach Federation, Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, Society of Human Resources Management, and the Center for Credentialing and Education. She holds additional certifications in HR, Leadership, Myers-Briggs ®, Emotional Intelligence and Diversity Management from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Emotional Intelligence and Diversity Institute, and American University. She did her undergraduate work in psychology at Upsala College. Her personal turnaround journey through mergers, launches, and spin-offs of corporate cultures at several major global communications companies is the basis for her work as contributing author of “Discover Your Inner Strength". With Diversity and Inclusion being her passion, Edgerton-Chisler shares her insights about this critical competency in the “Big Bold Business Advice from New Jersey Women Business Owners”. Most recently she launched Seat @the Table©, a program designed to prepare individuals for nonprofit board service. Her new book “Songs of Gratitude” is due out late 2014.
Willa has been recognized by Magic 98.3 Women In Business for her contribution to the community and selected as one of the Best 50 Women in Business in 2012 by NJBIZ. She was also recognized as the 2011 Garden State Woman of the Year-Diversity, and as one of the 80 Leading Woman Entrepreneur and Business Owners of New Jersey in 2013 by Leading Women Entrepreneurs, LLC. and in 2011 by Own It Ventures, Inc. Willa is also the 2008 U.S. SBA Region II & NJ Minority Business Champion and has been recognized by the State of NJ Senate and General Assembly Joint Legislative Resolution for her body of work and contributions.
Willa presently serves on the advisory board for the NJ Small Business Development Center - Rutgers-Newark, career coordinator/facilitator for Dress for Success - Morris County Going Places Network presented by Walmart. She has appeared on Princeton Community TV – The Dr. Joy Show - "Your Prescription for Total Wellness" and WCTC 1450AM “Life Advice” with Jennifer Lewis-Hall.
Over the years, she has been recognized her tireless contributions from ARFC; Project Re Direct, Role Model, Inc., NJSDBC, Make a Wish Foundation, Inroads, Habitat for Humanity, Ms. Foundation, Community Food Bank, NJAWBO, Plays for Living, and the Vietnam Veterans Association.
